Chapel of Saint Longegin in the Temple of Christ's Resurrection, Jerusalem
Longin was a Roman soldier who was to verify whether Jesus Christ was truly dead, the spear penetrate his chest. This Longin's spear was found in the rock in the place of today's chapel and this spear is known as Longin's spear or the spear of destiny for which the fate of the world is bound.
The Holy Martyr Longin, was the first officer who, after Christ's suffering, took off the military uniform and moved away from the world for Christ. He was the captain, the elder of soldiers who attended the crucifix of Jesus Christ on Golgota, about which the Gospel of Matthew, Marko and Luka testified.
He was the elder of soldiers, that is, the guard who kept Christ's grave. When Jewish elders found out about Christ's resurrection, they broke the soldiers to pass the false news - that Christ did not reset but to stole his disciples. They tried to pour and longin, but he didn't agree to that. The Jewish elders then wanted to kill him, but he found out the two other, took off his military belt, went to the apostle and baptized himself, and then secretly left Jerusalem and moved to Cappadocia. There he surrendered the post and prayer, and, as the living witness of Christ's resurrection, he addressed many gentlocities in the truthful faith. The time of World War II, Adolf Hitler sent his people in search of this spear. He heard he gives a special power to the one who owns it. He believed that if he was growing, he would rule the whole world.
